Daily Bible Verse July 5, 2026 – Meaning, Prayer & Life Application
1 John 5:13 (KJV) “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” — 1 John 5:13 (KJV)
Meaning of 1 John 5:13
Today’s Bible verse is a powerful reminder that God wants His children to have confidence in their salvation. Through faith in Jesus Christ, believers do not have to live in fear or uncertainty about their relationship with God. The Apostle John wrote this letter so that those who believe in the Son of God would know they have eternal life—not merely hope for it or wonder about it.
This assurance is based on God’s promises, not on our feelings or our own efforts. Eternal life is God’s gift to everyone who places their trust in Jesus Christ. Because Christ has paid the price for our sins through His death and resurrection, we can live each day with peace, hope, and confidence in His saving grace.
Knowing that we have eternal life should also inspire us to remain faithful, share the Gospel with others, and live in a way that honors the One who gave His life for us.
Life Application
As you go through today, remember that your confidence should rest in God’s Word rather than your emotions or circumstances. When doubts arise, stand on the promises of Scripture and remember that God’s faithfulness never changes.
Let the assurance of your salvation fill your heart with joy and gratitude. Live with purpose, knowing that your identity is found in Christ. Extend God’s love to others through your words, your actions, and your willingness to share the hope of the Gospel.
Today is a great opportunity to encourage someone who may be struggling with fear or uncertainty. Remind them that God’s promises are trustworthy and that eternal life is found in Jesus Christ alone.
Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the wonderful gift of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You that Your Word gives me confidence and assurance that I belong to You. Help me never to be ruled by fear or doubt, but to stand firmly on Your promises.
Strengthen my faith each day and teach me to trust You completely in every situation. Let my life reflect the hope, peace, and joy that come from knowing You. Use me to encourage others and boldly share the good news of salvation with those around me.
Keep my heart faithful, my mind focused on Your truth, and my steps aligned with Your will. May everything I do bring honor and glory to Your name.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
